PUB File Viewer

PUB to PDF: convert a Publisher file in your browser

Convert a Microsoft Publisher (.pub) file to PDF: get a PDF of its text and pictures without installing anything and without uploading the file.

How it works

  1. Open the PUB viewer and choose your .pub file.
  2. Check the text and pictures it shows: that is exactly what the PDF will contain.
  3. Click Download PDF (Pro key, €12.99 one time, unlimited files).

What the PDF contains, honestly

The PDF holds all the text of the publication, in order, followed by its photos at full resolution, on US Letter or A4 pages (you choose before downloading). It does not reproduce the original layout, columns, fonts or colours. If you need a pixel-perfect PDF, open the file in LibreOffice Draw or an old copy of Publisher and export from there (see how to open a PUB file).

Why convert your .pub files now

Microsoft 365 subscribers lose access to Publisher on or shortly after October 1, 2026, and the perpetual version is out of support since October 13, 2026. Microsoft itself recommends converting .pub files to PDF (Microsoft Support). PDF and Word files will keep opening everywhere for years.

Convert Publisher to PDF in the UK, Ireland, Australia and elsewhere

Outside North America, choose A4 in the "PDF paper" menu next to the download button (it is selected automatically when your browser language is not US or Canadian English). The steps are the same: open the .pub file, check the preview, download the PDF.

PUB to Word

The same Pro key exports the text to a .docx file you can edit in Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice Writer.
